Last week was Ole Miss Alumni Band Reunion Weekend! We had over 200 alumni participate in the two-day event, and it was more fun than I even anticipated. We rehearsed, enjoyed a banquet, presented Mr. Willson with a motorcycle, had a luncheon, rehearsed with the current band, performed in the Grove, played in the stands as our own group, performed at halftime - and in general visited, caught up, joked around, relived the "glory days," played a lot of good music, sounded darn good, and had a blast! | This is me explaining to Ann Maxwell that she can't run rampant through the band setup before the Grove routine. She was unimpressed with my reasoning! Chris and my parents were kind enough to bring her to the game. She was very interested in the people and all the game day decor. She looked at the Band like it was old hat; after all, she's been around bands her whole life. Five hundred people playing in the Grove at once was routine to her for some reason. It was extremely cold, though, so she made her exit with my parents after the 1st quarter of the game. |
