Chasing Little Bit

Ann Maxwell is now officially crawling... and into everything! She hates to sit still or be confined for any amount of time whatsoever and is on the move constantly! Her favorite target is of course Little Bit. Every time she spies Little Bit she takes off crawling after her. Little Bit is having none of this and never allows herself to be caught by the tiny hands that seek to touch her for a brief shining moment. Poor baby! Or poor Little Bit, depending on how you look at it. Haha! Anyway, this video shows Ann Maxwell start to crawl toward me, wipe out, then spy Little Bit and take off. You can see the joy on her face when she goes after that elusive white cat. It's so adorable!





In other news, we spent a few days in New Albany this weekend because the band had its State Festival and Competition in Tupelo. This stressful and time-consuming few days had me running in between baby and band constantly, but it was all worth it in the end. The band scored all I's in all captions and my drum majors won 1st place in their division and 2nd overall in the contest. I'm so proud of Lindsey and Latoya! They've worked so hard and been very accommodating with my ever-changing schedule. The band heads to Grand Championships Saturday in Pearl, so I'm hoping for good results there too.

Ann Maxwell saw her first halftime show Friday night. My parents were kind enough to bundle her up like an eskimo and bring her to see the band. She loved it, and even kicked her legs and sang along with the music! It was so fulfilling to hold her and watch her enjoy that part of my life. After halftime we whisked her away and back to the warmth of the car. We were all so concerned with her not getting cold (which I assure you she didn't in her 10 layers) that we forgot to take a picture. Oh well, we'll have to get it next time.

While we were in New Albany we went to meet my cousin Kimberly's new baby, Julianna. She's a beautiful baby, and it was hard to believe our crawling machine was ever that little! Ann Maxwell wasn't too sure about that other baby, but was kind of enough to pose for a photo all the same. Here's Kimberly, big brother Brayden, Julianna, Ann Maxwell, and me...

A new generation of girl cousins. Watch out, matching Care Bear jogging suits may be in your future, too, girls... (I think Kimberly and I still have those things from Christmas 1984!)
